The City of Juneau contracts with Kunkel Engineering Group for the building inspection services provided to the citizens of Juneau. The Building Inspector is a function of our Public Safety Committee, which is ultimately responsible for the oversight and performance of the inspector.

Currently, the main inspector assigned to Juneau is Mark Kay Vogel. She is available at City Hall on Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 8:00am and 9:00am. If you are unable to make these times, blank permits are available at City Hall and if you have questions you may call Mary Kay Vogel at the following numbers:

If you have a question regarding the building or zoning set back rules, you may go to the library or come to City Hall and review our ordinances. Questions regarding whether you need a building permit, contact Mary Kay. Construction started without a valid building permit will subject you to double fees per our ordinances.
