1. Purchase New Equipment.
Discussed a special order combination DVD/VCR from JVC for $700.00. Need a pro buss controller for $114.45 and shipping. The total purchase price is $536.55. Jahnke/Smith to approve the above purchase.
Sent camera in for report costing $600.00.
2. AT & T Competition for Cable TV.
Governor may or may not sign. Discussion amount the Committee regarding cable, dish, and Direct TV competition. Cable losing a lot of business because of the NFL network and Big Ten Network.
New Business:
1. Cancel December 24 th meeting. Next meeting will be January 28 th at 6:00 PM.
2. New DVD Player for the Library.

Eugene called Mike Williams at Charter Communications. Several cable technicians came to his house. They are going to replace Eugene’s line. Eugene will let us know if this solves the problem.

A. County Board Meetings. Do We Want to Continue?
Zwieg/Sweeney to no longer tape county board meetings. Motion carried. We could do this in the future. Motion carried.
B. Purchase New Equipment.
Bob will be checking out new DVD prices for the library.
C. Free Films To Show On Channel 19.
They don’t work in our machines.

A. Inventory Of All Equipment.
Bob passed out inventory sheets. A copy will be taken to City Hall.
B. Donation To The Library.
This will be done in 2008 like the motion stated.
C. Cable Committee or School To Cover Basketball Games.
Per Bob, the basketball home games are done by volunteers.

Free DVD’s do not work on the Pioneer player at the library.
D. Donation to the Library will be given in 2008. Eugene Becker read the Resolution from the Common Council that was approved on July 10 th, 2007. In 2006 a donation was made in the amount of $600.00. Next donation will be January, 2008 for $1,000.00.

A. Budget for 2008. Committee went over the budget for 2008 with Eugene Becker.
B. Change in Channel From Charter.

Bob Sweeney contacted by E-Mail several communities. Some video’s will be coming to the library. These will be free.

Eugene reported that the donation will not be made until 2008 as the motion had stated.
C. Purchase New Equipment.
Bob suggested purchasing DVD computer wiring tripod and other equipment. After discussion. Smith/Zwieg to purchase 15” screen Mac Intosh computer, DCD recorder, tripod, tripod bag and wiring at a cost not to exceed $3,500.00. Motion carried.
Zwieg/Sweeney to purchase two DVD racks to hold DVD’s. Motion carried.
Zwieg/Sweeney to purchase 15” TV for monitoring Channel 19 not to exceed $220.00. Motion carried.
D. Date To Televise County Board Meetings.
First meeting recording will be next month.

B. Charter Date For Phone Service On Demand
Eugene called Mike Hill and phone service to start August 15 th through August 20 th in the area.
C. Dodge County Most Wanted.
Barb stated they will be sending it again. Committee decided to put this back on Channel 19.
D. Hire Camera Person.
Sally Spitz is the person. Bob has for camera person. Zwieg/Sweeney with approval of the Personnel Committee.
E. Put Channel 19 on the City Web Site.

A. Library Fee
An annual fee of $1,700.00 was suggested from the Library Committee. For staff time involved in running Channel 9. In the past $500.00 was given to the library as a donation. Zwieg/Chase to approve a $1,000.00 donation to the library (starting in 2008 AMENDED 7-23-07). Motion carried.
B. Purchase New Equipment
1. Barb would like a new TV monitor for Channel 19 playback - $299.00
2. Pioneer DVD Player - $379.00
3. Hook Up DVD Controller - $114.95
Zwieg/Sweeney to approve purchasing all three of the above items.

C. O.K. Letter to Newspaper
Smith/Sweeney to explain our Cable TV Committee functions as well as Channel 19 in the newspaper. Motion carried.

Talked about purchase programs from other communities. Bob Sweeney presented information. The committee was not able to pursue this at this meeting. Will put this on the next Cable TV Committee meeting agenda.
B. Letter from Corp. Counsel Dodge County
Eugene Becker read a letter from John Corey, Corporate Council for the filming of the County Board Meetings.
C. Do we keep our ad on 19 for camera person
This was discussed and it was agreed upon to keep it on. Just need to add the hourly rate of $10.00 per hour to the ad.

A. Phone Call From Mike Hill.Eugene called Mike Hill about problem with Kelly Wegener. Problem was taken care of by Charter. Mayor Bosak also heard from Mike Hill about telephone coming to Juneau.

C. Report on W.A.P.C. Conference.
Eugene reported on the conference. Bob also gave a report on seminars he attended.
D. Letter Sent to County Board
Eugene sent a letter to the board about filming meetings. Met with them and they will bring it up to the board. Zwieg/Chase to tape county board meetings on a trial basis. Motion carried.

Introduce Mike Hill from Charter.
Give hand out – City of Juneau, WI Cable TV Complaint Form Procedures. Form attached. Said to be patient with them and complaints working on it. Mike talked to his operation team today about the problem of getting a hold of someone at Charter for complaints. If there is an issue, let Mike Hill know and he will get in contact with that person or have someone from Charter get in contact with that person. Kelly Wegener came as a member of the community telling Mike Hill of all the problems her family has with Charter. Mike Hill is going to look into it for her. He wanted her to let him check into the problem and fix it for her. Kathy Zwieg and Eugene expressed their problems with Charter also. Mike Hill talked on telephones and beginning channels. Mike was here for information to the Cable Committee for one hour.

A. Meeting with County Board Chairman.Eugene talked to the board chairman about taping the County Board meetings.
B. Purchase New Equipment.
Bob talked about getting tapes hopefully around $200.00 so there is not approval by the city.
C. W.A.P.C. Conference - Madison
Bob and Eugene registered for this conference May 4 th and 5 th, 2007.

Adding Another One or Two More Students for Camera People.
(AMENDED 3-23-07 at 4:25 PM) Mayor Bosak suggested we try to get some camera people. Several meetings were not taped. Bob will talk to some students. Barb will place this on Channel 19.

A. Final Report on Survey Cards. Reviewed cards overall and discussed new programs.
B. Purchase New Equipment. None.
C. Report on V.C.R. Problem. Everything is fixed on the VCR. It is now working.

A. W.A.P.C. Spring Conference. This will be held in Madison. . Zwieg/Smith to send two people to the spring conference on May 4 th and 5 th, 2007. Motion carried. Eugene and Bob will be attending
B. Charter to Attend Meeting in April. Mike Hill will attend our April meeting. We will advertise this to the public.

D.Expenditures with Comparison to Budget 2006. Eugene went over the budget. The committee suggested that Eugene go over this with Pam to get a better understanding of the budget.
