Public comments:
1. Ron Drezdon regarding fences:
This is the ordinance that Ron would like to see changed:
17.04.100 Yard Requirements
( E) Fences, Hedges and Certain Accessory Structures.
1. Residential fences and hedges are required two feet off the property lines for maintenance purposes in residential districts, but shall not exceed a height of six feet. When to be placed in a front yard, review by the plan commission shall be required, and they shall not exceed a height of four feet. In no case shall they be closer than two feet to any public right-of-way lines.
Ron would like to place a fence right on the lot line as some neighbors have already done. In order for him to put a fence on the lot line he is required to apply for a variance which costs $200.00 for the publication and holding a public hearing.
No action taken. Ron would like to have this go to the Board of Appeals as soon as possible. Jane is to call him with the public hearing date.
Election of Secretary:
Bosak/Schulte to nominate JoAnn Link as secretary. Steffen/Buske to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for JoAnne LInk. Motion carried.
Election Of Vice Chairman:
Link/Schulte to nominate Dave Gratton as vice chairman. Buske/Steffen to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Dave Gratton. Motion carried.
Wi ld Goose Development, Sump Pump, Future:
The owner of the property with open lots to the east in the Wild Goose Development tore up the street to put in a sump pump. No answer back on lack of street opening permit. Owner did not respond to any certified letters or e-mails. There is no sump pump in the pump pit. Water is causing a problem for the property owners/residents that live in that area. How can the city proceed with this? Put it on the next months agenda. Have Mike Laue shoot for elevations, ditches and sump pumps. Possible closed session. Forward information to Joe Sciascia.
Andy’s Roofing, Property:
Possible sale of other property in the industrial park and property needs to be cleaned up. Committee needs to do a title search and find out who owns the property who is paying utilities, taxes, etc. Ron needs to look into who is paying utilities? Ken Steffen to have Jane Fude do a title search and find out who the property owner is. Second by Gratton. Roll call vote, motion carried. Please bring to next months agenda for further discussion.
