SAFETY TIPS FOR WINTER STORMS

When winter storms approach, residents should be prepared.  If possible you should keep on hand food and other supplies, so that you and your family will safely get through a winter snow or ice storm.

If traveling, carry boots, snow pants, and a warm coat in your vehicle, along with a shovel and battery jumper cables.  Check you cars fluid levels before traveling on a long trip.  Drivers should also be alert for changing driving conditions and should allow for extra driving time when traveling.  On behalf of the City of Juneau, Mayor Ross Tillema and myself, have a safe and Happy Holiday Season!
